Visit and tour brewery Frontaal - Live MADE talk
The visit and tour at Brewery Frontaal in Breda was organized by the team of Zsófia. During this MADE talk we went to Brewery Frontaal, here we first got a presentation from one of the employees about their business and their process, and also about who makes the creative labels for on the beers, then we went on a tour to see the process of how they make their beers, after this there was a drawing competition. In this drawing competition, we needed to create a new label for them on their beer cans including a creative name that suited the company, type of beer and drawing.
I enjoyed this afternoon very much. I learned a lot during the presentation and tour about how beers are made, how they make an efficient process and how the beers get shipped. Furthermore, I think that the visit was also very fun. Everyone was very competitive during the drawing competition and we tasted some of the beers of Brewery Frontaal.
I think this visit could contribute to my career since I now know more about the process of beers. Because of this, when one of the suppliers has a problem and cannot deliver their beers on time, I understand a bit more about why this is and how long they would still need to deliver the beers. Also because of this, I can think along and maybe help if needed.

Een rondje door even - Youtube MADE talk
This Youtube MADE talk was produced by the team of Nikita. In this video they did interviews with 4 different people from the industry; a production employee of Intents festival and Karnaval festival, the chair of the events committee of the SOK, the production manager of Afrojack and a freelancer in event entertainment. I liked the video because it showed how these people combine their festival jobs with their daily lives or normal jobs. From this, I think I learned that it is not always possible and needed to keep everything separate from each other, which I tried keeping separated until now. Also, I was a bit surprised by the production manager of Afrojack saying that Afrojack and a lot of other artists do not do anything about sustainability. I thought festivals and other events would maybe expect and demand the artist to travel in a certain way or contribute to sustainability in another way, but apparently, this is not true. I feel like this is something festivals should do in the future, since sustainability is very important.
I think this will be something I will keep in mind when organizing something myself.
Nooit stil - Youtube MADE talk
This was the youtube MADE talk produced by the team of Lindsay. In this video, they interviewed 3 different people about tinnitus, one of them is a DJ and has tinnitus, one of them works as a booking agent and artist handler and has tinnitus and the last one was a hearing specialist and has his own hearing service. I chose to watch this video because I think hearing is very important, especially in this branch when having to hear music. I knew a bit of tinnitus and always wanted to make my own fitting earbuds, but never really took action on this. Now, because of this video, I know a lot more about tinnitus and how to prevent it. Also, now I feel the need to take immediate action about getting my own fitting hearing buds.
I think for the industry and everyone who works in this industry it is important to know about tinnitus. I think the people in the industry should do more in order to make the visitors aware of tinnitus and to keep the ears of their visitors safe.
Festival problemen, het studentenperspectief
This was the podcast created by the team of Ciska, it was about the problems they experienced at festivals as a visitor. For example, the crowd at the lockers at the beginning and the end of the festival, the moisture in the festival tent (because of people breathing and sweating), the bad wifi or 4g connection when on a festival, and the signing and floorplan of the festival. I experienced the first and third problems also at festivals and know how frustrating or annoying this could be. The wifi or 4G connection problem is especially annoying when you are supposed to meet up with another group of friends or when you lost your friends.
I think festivals can do a lot more about the locker problem, especially since it is almost everywhere a problem. Maybe to find a solution multiple festivals should come together to make up a plan. I think the second problem is not hygienic and should really be solved, maybe the festivals could also discuss this problem with the producer of the tents.
The third problem is always really annoying and I think it could also be dangerous. For example when you lose your friends and then get hurt or harassed. But I also think this problem is maybe not solvable because of money or because of the connection provider. I think the fourth problem is not a problem at every festival, since a lot of festivals already have a lot of signing. The idea they had in the podcast about putting signs with the genres of the stages, could maybe be implemented and I also think it could help visitors with finding the correct stage.

Crowd safety lecture Trigion Security Group
This lecture was organized by my own group. It was about the security Trigion Safety Group does on events, what is important and why, and some examples of how it could go wrong. We needed to match certain types of names with fatal mistakes to examples and we needed to draw the fences, first aid etc on an empty festival map. At the end of the guest lecture, the person from Trigion Security Group told us which drawing he liked the most and why.
I thought this lecture was really interesting because I have always been interested in safety and crowds. I really liked how this man explained certain types of mistakes, such as a crowd crush. And I also liked how he had some facts about how many people for instance could fit through a door and to what side the door should open and why. I think I will remember this guest lecture since it is something I will really need when organizing an event.
Personal MADE talks
Live event - Crowd safety lecture by Trigion Security
Since the beginning of the year, my group was not working along quite well. There was a lack of communication and motivation. When organizing the crowd safety lecture I was the one who reached out to companies, made the concept for the guest lecture, and also made the poster. One of the companies I reached out to was the Trigion Security Group, they were very excited to give the guest lecture and also already had been at BUas before. We had contact about the time and date of the guest lecture and discussed what needed to be in it. Approximately 2 hours before the guest lecture started, the whole group came together and we met Robert- Jan van Dijk, he was the person from Trigion Security Group who came to give the guest lecture. When we were all together, we went through his PowerPoint to discuss if everything was okay and made a few changes. After this, we went to the classroom and he gave the lecture.
I think it was a very interesting lecture because he explained a lot about for example how many people can fit through a door and also gave examples. At the end of the guest lecture, the class got an empty festival map and they were supposed to draw in the fences, first aid etc. I also think this was very interesting because with this we got to see how different people think and Robber-Jan told us which one he thought was the best drawing and why.
I thought it was very hard to organize this lecture with this group. I was not always at school because I was ill sometimes. But I did my part of the work and even more. It was very hard because when texting in our group chat about for example the context of the lecture or if the poster was okay, it sometimes took 1 week before someone responded. Because of this I also became a bit irritated and I also kindly told my group that I would like it if they could respond more often and do their part. But unfortunately, this did not work.
All by all, the guest lecture was quite nice and Robert- Jan was very kind, but the organization of this lecture and the communication were very much lacking.
