Live event - Crowd safety lecture by Trigion Security
Since the beginning of the year my group was not working along quite well. There was a lack of communication and motivation. When organizing the crowd safety lecture I was the one who reached out to companies, made the concept for the guest lecture and also made the poster. One of the companies I reached out to was the Trigion Security Group, they were very excited to give the guest lecture and also already had been at BUas before. We had contact about the time and date of the guest lecture and discussed what needed to be in it. Approximately 2 hours before the guest lecture started, the whole group came together and we met Robert- Jan van Dijk, he was the person from Trigion Security Group who came to give the guest lecture. When we were all together we went to his powerpoint to discuss if everything was okay and made a few changes. After this we went to the classroom and he gave the lecture.
I think it was a very interesting lecture because he explained a lot about for example how many people can fit through a door and also gave examples. At the end of the guest lecture the class got an empty festival map and they were supposed to draw in the fences, first aid etc. I also think this was very interesting because with this we got to see how different people think and Robber-Jan told us which one he thought was the best drawing and why.
I thought it was very hard to organize this lecture with this group. I was not always at school because I was ill sometimes. But I did my part of the work and even more. It was very hard because when texting in our groups chat about for example the context of the lecture or if the poster was okay, it sometimes took 1 week before someone responded. Because of this I also became a bit irritated and I also kindly told my group that I would like it if they could respond more often and do their part. But unfortunately this did not work.
All by all the guest lecture was quite nice and Robert- Jan was very kind, but the organization of this lecture and the communication was very much lacking.

Youtube video - The New Wave
The making of the video went really messy, the concept was not clear to everyone and the communication was lacking. We divided the roles and then people did their tasks. Unfortunately, we agreed a certain time at which everyone would hand in their videos with me so I could edit them, but no one in the group sent it to me on time so I did not have any time left to edit the video, because I needed to work. Because of this someone else of the group quickly edited the video. Eventually, we ended up handing in the video but it was only 40 minutes long instead of 60 minutes.
I think we could have done this better and we should have started more on time. Also, I think we should have come up with some rules or agreements within the group, since the previous 2 projects also did not go quite well.
Podcast
Unfortunately, we did not yet manage to make the podcast. Again this is because of the lack of communication and motivation of the group. I tried to text a couple of times, and so did others, but no one responded to the text. I think with this group we really need to come up with some rules because like this I do not think it will ever get finished. I already had a talk with one of the group members, who is also more active, to maybe do it together instead of with the whole group, but this plan is not yet concrete. I hope that in the upcoming 2 weeks me and my group will really get started on the podcast.
